Microdermabrasion
Microdermabrasion treatments are gentle and take very little time, making them popular for today’s busy person.  Microdermabrasion is an epidermal treatment that is used to remove the outer dead layer of skin.  This technique uses a hand piece that is traced over the skin, blowing aluminum oxide crystals and gently vacuuming them away.

An ideal candidate for Microdermabrasion is anyone that does not have active acne and anyone that is looking for a nice refreshing glow to the skin.  Microdermabrasion treatments usually take 15-20 minutes, with minimal discomfort. Initially 4-6 treatments are required with maintenance recommended every 3 months. Most importantly this treatment is safe on all skin types.

What is treatment like?
Microdermabrasion is performed with a stream of fine crystals, which are delivered across the skin's surface and then removed via vacuum, uprooting the damaged cells to reveal fresh, invigorated skin.

What are the benefits of Microdermabrasion?
Microdermabrasion Improves:

  • Skin Texture
  • Dull or Dry Patches
  • Uneven pigmentation
  • Rough, Thick or Dry Skin
  • Clogged Pores and Blackheads
  • Melasma
Skin is restored to a more youthful appearance and best of all there is no "down time". Resume regular activities immediately!

What results can I expect?
Microdermabrasion accelerates the cellular turnover process, bringing you closer to healthier, younger-looking skin. It allows you to gradually resurface your skin without the risks, side effects, and down time of more aggressive alternatives. In as little as 20 minutes, this gentle, abrasive technique efficiently produces satisfying results. Improvements in appearance and texture will occur with successive treatments. Microdermabrasion can be used aggressively to achieve dramatic results, but does not take the place of surgical or laser treatments.

How many treatments will I need?
To achieve maximum results, several treatments are recommended, typically scheduled 4 weeks apart. You will experience a progressive improvement throughout your treatment program. Ask to schedule a consultation to determine the approximate number of treatments recommended for optimum effects.

How does my skin look immediately after treatment?
Microdermabrasion leaves your skin feeling soft and you will notice a healthy glow to your complexion. Due to the increase of circulation, a mild temporary blush surrounding the treated area may be the only evidence of your therapy.

Facials
Do you ever find yourself wishing you could put your feet up and have a facial?  Facials will allow you to indulge in a spa experience that will not only be comforting, but will also benefit the appearance of your skin.  Facials are affordable and can be done in a safe environment.  Speaking from an esthetician’s point of view, I stress the importance of using sterile technique.

A basic facial consists the following steps:  A gentle cleansing of the face and neck, followed by an application of a soothing toner.  This will leave your skin feeling refreshed.  Next, is the skin evaluation.  Examining your skin closely allows me to identify what is your right plan.  Then, using sterile technique, I will extract the impurities from the pores.  After, the extraction is the application of the facial mask.  Depending on your skin type, I will choose appropriate mask.  Last, but not least, the best part of all is the massaging of the neck and shoulders.  While you enjoy your massage, you will only remember the wonderful and relaxing experience that will energize your body to begin another day in your busy life.

Eyelash Tint
Eyelash tinting is a process wherein your lashes are dyed to make them look darker. Depending on your skin type, there are different eyelash colors we can use. Eyelash tinting will benefit people that are sensitive to make-up, people who are active in sports, and people who have no time to apply make-up daily. With eyelash tinting, you will always have dark, tantalizing eyes without ever using mascara. A typical eyelash tint takes about 15 minutes. Eyelash tinting is a non-surgical procedure that lasts 4-6 weeks, and can provide amazing, long-lasting results.

Well-groomed eyebrows are key to a pulled together look.  Flip through any magazine, and you will see that all models have perfect eyebrows.  Eyebrow waxing doesn’t take much of your busy schedule.  It’s the quickest and simplest way to make over your face.  When it comes to your facial features, going to a well-trained individual is a must!  Eyebrow waxing is minimally uncomfortable, and causes slight redness, which subsides in minutes.  The outcome in the end is A-MAZING!

Permanent Makeup
Permanent Makeup, also referred to as Micro-pigmentation or Cosmetic tattooing, is a procedure applying micro insertions of pigment into the dermal layer of the skin. For centuries, men and women have been utilizing this practice to enhance or correct their skin color. The most common applications involve the eyebrows, lips, and eyeliner. This procedure is also used for correction of scars, areola restoration, and vitiligo. Many women who have had this procedure find they wear much less makeup than before, while others continue to apply regular makeup for the more finished look and enjoy the color the permanent cosmetics add to their facial features.

Lips
Augmenting your lips with permanent makeup can make them appear as if their size and shape have changed, as well as enhance their color. Lip liner placement can camouflage fine lines surrounding the lips and prevent the look of lipstick bleeding into the surrounding skin. Some people choose to have a very natural color applied, while others desire a more dramatic effect. Lip liner and full lip micropigmentation are both available.

Eyebrows
This very popular procedure is critical for patients who wish to possess more fullness to his or her brow. Since the finalized application is waterproof, those having this procedure are free to go swimming, exercise, and change clothing without worrying about their eyebrows wiping off.

Eyeliner
The pigment can be placed between the eyelashes for a very subtle look, although a more bold and definite look can easily be achieved.

Areola Reconstruction
For those who wish to have more color added to their areola nipple area, this treatment has proven to be safe and effective. Many surgeons will recommend the procedure to women who have had breast reconstruction in order to repigment the new nipple area as a match to the hue of their natural nipple areola.

Scars and Small Area Repigmenting
Small areas are quickly and easily performed upon to approximately match the affected area to the surrounding skin color. Burn victims, those with unsightly scarred areas, and people with vitiligo can greatly benefit from this safe and effective procedure.

Is the procedure painful?
The procedure is made comfortable both by topical anesthetic or nerve block anesthesia performed by Dr. Carr.

How is the procedure performed?
The Permenant Makeup Technician will discuss the results you desire and, depending on the area to be treated, may have you apply regular makeup to determine the shape and colors you would like to attain. The area is cleansed and a topical anesthetic is applied for your comfort. Then, via a delicate hand piece, the pigment is placed throughout the dermal layer of the skin. An area such as a lip could take 40 to 60 minutes and a lower lash could take 30 to 40 minutes. Touch-up sessions are routinely performed to archive the final result.

What will I look like immediately following the procedure?
There will be slight swelling and redness of the skin, which will quickly subside. You may resume regular activities immediately. You may be asked to refrain from wearing makeup and contact lenses depending on the area treated. You will want to avoid direct sun exposure to the treated area for a certain period of time. You will begin to see your final results in a 2 to 3 week period.
