SculpSure

Millions of Americans struggle with a bit of resistant pudge. In the past, liposuction was the only effective treatment for spot reduction. Over time, non-surgical methods have evolved. Today, Dr. Pamela Carr offers SculpSure, the most advanced technology for non-invasive fat reduction.

What Is Sculpsure?

Everyone, no matter what kind of shape they’re in, has pockets of stubborn fat that they just can’t get rid of. But those same people may not be interested in surgery, such as liposuction, to remove it. SculpSure is a new option for non-invasive body contouring on the flanks and abdomen, two areas that are traditionally problematic for fat accumulation.

SculpSure uses controlled light-based technology to effectively kill fat cells in the target areas in just 25 minutes. The body then eliminates the dead cells over the course of the next 12 weeks. SculpSure™ eliminates up to 24 percent of the fat cells in the treatment area. The result is a markedly slimmer contour without downtime or surgery.

Sculpsure Treatment

SculpSure is surgery-free and non-invasive. That means no anesthetic, needles, incisions, or scars. You relax comfortably while the hands-free applicator is placed in position. It sends focused light into deep tissue layers where it is absorbed by adipose (fatty) tissue, without harm to the surface skin, or to internal muscles and organs. SculpSure’s proprietary technology uses cooling cycles so that treatment is well-tolerated. SculpSure typically takes 25 minutes.

SculpSure is FDA-cleared for fat reduction on the flanks and abdomen, but there is really no limit to areas that can be treated. Dr. Carr achieves excellent results on poochy belly fat, bra fat on the back, upper arms, thighs, and inner knees.

Understanding Your Options

We invite you to call Carr Dermatology to help understand all your weight-loss treatment options. Dr. Carr also offers Liposuction which is performed at our Sugar Land practice. Since there is no need to travel to a surgery center and pay additional costs, this helps save you money for your Liposuction treatment.

How Does Sculpsure Work?

SculpSure uses laser energy to destroy unwanted fat cells. This is the first FDA-cleared fat reduction treatment using laser energy. SculpSure delivers 1060nm wavelength laser energy down through the epidermis down into the dermis, the skin’s second layer. This wavelength is very effective for heating fat cells to the temperature where the cell membrane breaks down. SculpSure uses proprietary energy modulation to elevate the temperature below the dermis to between 108°F and 115°F within four minutes of application. At the same time, the four applicators apply contact cooling to keep the surface skin comfortable.

This heating destroys up to 24 percent of the fat cells in the treated areas. The body then eliminates these destroyed cells through the lymphatic system over the course of the next few weeks. Our Carr Dermatology patients see their optimal results when this process is complete at about 12 weeks after your SculpSure session.

Why SculpSure technology is superior to fat-freezing methods

SculpSure is far less uncomfortable than fat-freezing techniques and takes far less time to complete a treatment.

Most fat-freezing systems use suction to pull fat into the device. This can result in “ledging,” a noticeable ridging in the treatment area. SculpSure’s laser penetrates under skin to melt fat with even, feathering reduction.

Is Sculpsure Safe?

This is a completely non-invasive procedure. SculpSure delivers cooling onto the surface of the skin while the heating energy is delivered into the fat layer. This ensures the patient is completely comfortable. This is no damage to the surface skin at all. And there is no downtime.

Benefits of SculpSure

  • Safe – Drug-free, non-invasive, surgery-free, and cleared by the FDA.
  • Effective – Fat reduction of up to 25 percent in treated areas. Results seen within six to 12 weeks.
  • Convenient – Only a 25-minute session needed.
  • No downtime – Return to normal activities right after your appointment.
  • Long-lasting – Your body does not create new fat cells, so once they are destroyed, they are gone for good.

SculpSure has earned a 90 percent customer satisfaction rate. It is ideal for those with a body mass index of 30 or less, but who have stubborn zones of fat. As a Board-certified dermatologist, Dr. Carr’s number one priority is ensuring that each patient gets ethical, appropriate care. She may recommend liposuction, bariatric surgery, or nutritional counseling for patients who have body fat that exceeds these guidelines.

Is Fat Reduction With Sculpsure Permanent?

SculpSure destroys up to 24 percent of the fat cells in the treated areas. This is a permanent change and these fat cells are gone for good. If you keep your weight at a healthy level you’ll enjoy your slimmer contour for the rest of your life.

What Our Patients Have To Say

Dr. Carr and her staff Cassie, Erica, and Eckerly are amazing. I have been a patient for years. She has a warm and friendly office with a long time, dedicated staff– that is important. In addition to being a physician, Dr. Carr is an artist. I highly recommend Dr. Carr and her staff.

Would I Be A Good Candidate For Sculpsure?

Just about everyone, short of marathon runners, has pockets of unwanted fat that are extremely difficult to target and remove with changes in diet and exercise. That makes basically anyone a great candidate for SculpSure. Remember, this procedure is completely non-invasive and it doesn’t require any downtime.

It is important to understand that SculpSure is not a weight-loss procedure. It is a body-contouring procedure. It is intended to reduce stubborn pockets of fat, not to provide overall weight reduction. The best patients for SculpSure are within 10 percent of their ideal weight.
